Bradford Loomis is a small business owner running for Mt. Juliet City Commissioner, District 2, on a platform of accountability, accessibility, and transparency. His existing campaign site ran on WordPress and Elementor on shared hosting, so it was slow, hard to keep current, and more than the campaign needed. I rebuilt it as a static site with Eleventy 3, hosted on Netlify, with a warm, approachable look set in Playfair Display and Open Sans. Every image is converted to AVIF and WebP srcsets at build time, and the site ships almost no JavaScript, so pages load fast on a phone. The contact and newsletter forms post to a Netlify Function that emails the campaign and adds subscribers to a Brevo list, with honeypot spam protection. Under the hood there is per-page metadata, Open Graph tags, JSON-LD structured data for the candidate and campaign, a generated sitemap, and 301 redirects from every old WordPress URL. Copy lives in JSON files described for Pages CMS, so the campaign can edit text and photos in a simple editor and each save deploys automatically. The site launched in September 2026 when DNS moved from the old host to Netlify.
