Art & WhatNot opened in early 2025 as a gallery and retail shop in Arlington, Washington: a curious collection of creativity from a collective of local artists and makers, with hand-painted skateboards, recycled boat creations, laser engraving and 3D prints, modern cross stitch, candles, plants, rock sculptures, and fine art all under one roof. As a studio venture, I created the name, logo, and identity and carried them from the shop through to the web. The brand is playful but tidy, set in Bebas Neue and Work Sans on a clean white ground, and it worked as well on the storefront as it does on a screen. The website is a hand-coded static site on Netlify that acts as the shop's front door: what the shop is about, hours, social links, and a directory of the current artists with a link to each of their own sites. Images are served through Cloudinary and the whole page scores green across Lighthouse. In fall 2025 the shop moved online, so the site now points to a Square Online store while the artist directory stays put. The site also hosts the JLS Wermann portfolio on a subdomain.
